January 17, 1924 – January 12, 2012

Sam's vision and generosity helped make our Hillel what it is today and built the foundation for our new home. He and his wife, Bobbie, have ensured that generations of students will have a warm home away from home and plenty of delicious, home-cooked meals!

We are saddened that Sam will not be able to witness the opening of the new Hillel House this Spring, but his legacy will forever be a part of our Hillel.

Instead of celebrating Shabbat at Hillel House, students across Davis and Sacramento will host their fellow students in their home for a warm, cozy, and delicious Shabbat dinner. Hillel will provide hosts with challah, candles, grape juice, and the blessings for the Friday night table.
