Hillel Capital Project

In 2005, the Hillel at Davis and Sacramento celebrated 40 years of serving Jewish students in our community.  In the 1960's there were just a few hundred students in the Davis and Sacramento area. Today there are over three thousand!

We want to invite you to be a part of laying the groundwork for Hillel's next 40 years.

The new Hillel House has been designed to be eco-friendly and will be the first "green" Hillel House in the country.   The Jewish values of "Baal Tashchit" (do not destroy the earth) and "Shomrei Adamah" (caretakers of the earth) have guided us in this project.

Multifaith Living Community

The Multifaith Living Community (MLC) at CA House is a unique living environment for 34 students who seek to live in ways that honor others and the earth. Students of all faiths, or no faith, are eligible to apply. The community consists of 6 townhouses situated around a central courtyard on the Cal Aggie Christian Association property directly across from campus on Russell Boulevard. The townhouses are new construction (built 2008), are all 2 story, are accessible on the first floor, and have full kitchens, dining rooms, living rooms and laundry facilities within the unit. Four townhouses have 6 bedrooms and 3 full baths, and 2 townhouses have 5 bedrooms and 3 full baths. Each townhouse has an outside patio for residents' use. Residents in the Multifaith Living Community have the opportunity to take advantage of the programming features and resources available through CA House.

Construction in the MLC has utilized many green building features, and residents are encouraged to take advantage of our proximity to campus and downtown by using alternative modes of transportation. Bike parking is available for all residents, and all residents have the use of 2 electric vehicles, for use on a sign up basis at no cost to residents.

Selection to be a resident is based upon completion of an application including basic personal information, three references, personal responses to two essay questions, and an interview. If you are selected as a resident and choose to live at CA House you will be required to sign a Lease Agreement. Application materials may be submitted to the Office in person, emailed to CA House at the address listed on the application, faxed to (530) 753-0132, or mailed to 433 Russell Boulevard, Davis, CA 95616.
